The 4 Affordable Skincare Products You Need In 2018

I can’t be the only one that feels like this winter has gone on for an absolute lifetime? I think we had three full days of sun last year and it’s been overcast ever since. These dark days have definitely taken a toll on my skin, so I thought I’d share my favourite beauty products that I use on a daily basis to help when my complexion is looking dull and exhausted.

*Every product mentioned in this post is 100% cruelty free, vegan, and affordable*

1.Waitrose Pure Micellar Water, Waitrose £2.50

Perfect for sensitive skin, I use this twice daily to cleanse and refresh. This micellar water does contain alcohol which can be drying for some, but mentally I feel like this just helps me feel a bit more clean? Apply with cotton pads and leave to air dry – no rinsing necessary.

2. Waitrose Pure Hydration Eye Cream, Waitrose £4.00

An eye cream made in heaven. Enriched with vitamin E, this cream helps to reduce the appearance of dark circles and leaves the under-eye area looking visibly brighter and nourished. I use this before moisturising by taking a small pump and gently applying around my eyes. I have major eye baggage so I like to allow the product to sink in for a couple of minutes before patting dry with my fingers.

3. B. Confident Hyaluronic Acid Spritz, Superdrug £7.99

This spray is my “ride or die.” This is one of those products that changed the game for me, and I will not live without it. This stuff is honestly incredible. Hyaluronic acid is moisture binding and helps to keep the skin plump and hydrated. It also helps reduce the appearance of large pores which is one of the main reasons it’s become a favourite of mine. I use this morning and night every single day after cleansing and my skin has never looked so good.

4. B. Confident Day Cream, Superdrug £9.49

This facial moisturiser has sun protection to help shield your skin from the elements, and promises 12 hour hydration. It has a lovely creamy consistency, but is lightweight and non-greasy. It’s also packed with hyaluronic acid so you get a little bit of extra plump! I use a rather generous amount of this morning and night, and I find my make-up sits quite nicely on top.

These are my absolute favourite go-to skincare products and I couldn’t praise them enough. I’ve been using Superdrug’s B. Skincare range since 2016 and haven’t found anything I love more. The products from Waitrose’s Pure collection are new for me, but have quickly become staples. I have quite dry skin at the moment but I’ve managed to control flare-ups and breakouts using this regime. I feel so much more confident when my skin is looking clear, fresh and dewy, and I love that I can feel so good without spending too much.

Would you consider trying out any of the products listed? Are any of them already in your favourites? Let me know!

Thank you for reading,

Leigh Clrk

  1. Have you tried the vanishing cream from Lush? That’s what I’ve been using lately but at £18 for a small tub I think I need to find an alternative and this sounds perfect! Do you use any facial scrubs/spot creams that you would recommend as well? x

    1. Hi Leah! I hadn’t actually heard of that cream but I’ll absolutely be checking it out. I don’t mind splashing out on one or two luxury beauty products every now and then! I used to use loads of facial scrubs, but honestly for the last few months I’ve been using your standard bicarbonate of soda! It’s great for lifting dirt and grime off your face, but it can be super drying as it’s basically salt :’)

Spot creams I find so tough. B. beauty (again) have a great spot spot gel that’s pretty good for drying out violent red breakouts, and I’d usually use that until the area is dried out, and then keep the area heavily moisturised. It’s so hard not to pick, but try and reframe!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment also, it’s so lovely to have a chat with you xxx

      1. Honestly, I neglected my skin a lot before Christmas and I tried out the ocean salt scrub, vanishing cream and grease lightning spot cream from lush. All excellent products but I think I need to find a slightly cheaper alternative. Will definitely be checking out the B. Beauty products.
Thank you honey, hope you have a lovely evening xxx
